Who we are

A collective built on
connections.Founded in Leiden, 2023

Essentia Collaboration embodies artistic vision and community. Founded by two young artists driven by a shared passion for cultivating creativity, we have set out on a mission to curate thought-provoking art exhibitions and organise unique cultural events that inspire, engage, and connect.

Our work extends beyond borders — both geographical and cultural. We aim to build a dynamic artistic community that brings together creators from diverse backgrounds, creating an environment where new voices are heard, and artistic expression flourishes.

Through our collaborative approach, we strive to nurture emerging talent, celebrate established artists, and forge meaningful connections that resonate far beyond the confines of traditional art spaces. Our exhibitions showcase a rich variety of art forms, from painting and photography to poetry and performance, reflecting the evolving landscape of contemporary creativity.

Since our founding in 2023, we have hosted four successful events, bringing together a growing network of artists and art enthusiasts. The response has been inspiring, reinforcing our belief in the power of art to unite, spark conversation, and redefine cultural narratives.

Looking ahead, we are dedicated to expanding our impact — not only by curating more immersive experiences but also by broadening the scope of what Essentia Collaboration offers. Beyond exhibitions, we will create a space for artistic and cultural exchange, including art markets, workshops, political discussions, and film screenings.

I have always been drawn to the endless possibilities of artistic expression, both in creating and in experiencing the work of others. From a young age, I found joy in experimenting with different mediums — shaping ideas into text through poetry, capturing moments through photography. Each creative endeavour has been a way to explore emotions, thoughts, and the world around me.

But just as much as I love creating, I find deep inspiration in witnessing art in all its forms — whether in the quiet intimacy of a book, the immersive atmosphere of a museum, the raw emotion of a film, or the energy of a live performance. Art, to me, is not just about making; it is about experiencing, connecting, and continuously discovering new ways of seeing.

With this passion, I believe in providing artists with the opportunity to share their work while also ensuring that people have access to art events in an inclusive and affordable way. I hope to cultivate an environment where inspiration flows freely, and people from all backgrounds can come together to experience the power of art.

From an early age, I was drawn to the arts — not just as a creator, but as someone who saw art as a way to connect, inspire, and challenge perspectives. I explored fine arts, music, and photography, searching for a medium that felt most like home, only to realise that my passion lay in bringing different forms of creativity together. This led me to art curation and management, where I could shape artistic experiences beyond a single discipline.

My ultimate goal is to combine artistic practice with clinical practice — helping people improve their mental health through contact with art and creativity.

Essentia for me is a safe place where creatives come together to inspire each other, and I could not imagine my life without it. What our collective leaves behind are friendships and collaborations that are much bigger than us as individuals.

"Art is not produced in solitude — it is conjured in the space between people."

The collective is not a structure. It is a nervous system — every event a new synapse, every collaboration a signal passing between creative minds that were always meant to find each other.

We don't produce art. We create the conditions for it to happen.
